The President of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres, a keen and passionate supporter of solar energy, has visited Pythagoras Solar to learn about the company’s innovative technology and its possible impact on the global quest for affordable clean,
oil-independent energy sources.
The president met with Pythagoras’ founders in the company’s offices in Hakfar Hayarok and received theoretical explanation and field demonstration of the company prototypes.
Gonen Fink
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Fink is responsible for overseeing the growth of the company and directing strategic expansion. Before founding Pythagoras Solar, Mr. Fink was at Check Point Software Technologies (CHKP) for twelve years as Vice President of Products and Solutions & Strategy. As one of Check Point's first employees, Mr. Fink was instrumental in building the company from an early stage start-up to a multibillion dollar global market leader in internet security. Prior to Check Point, Mr. Fink served for seven years in the Israeli Defense Force's elite intelligence unit as a Captain and continued as a strategic planning consultant to the Ministry of Defense. Mr. Fink holds a B.Sc. summa cum laude in Physics and Computer Science, as well as an M.A. in Digital Philosophy, from the Tel Aviv University, Israel.
Dr. Itay Baruchi
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
In his role as Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Baruchi is responsible for innovating and implementing the technical vision of Pythagoras Solar. Prior to co-founding Pythagoras Solar, Dr. Baruchi was a physicist at both Genoa Color Technologies, developing novel image improvement technologies for TV screens, and at Karat Digital Press, where he developed algorithms and laser imaging systems for automated high speed printing presses. Widely known for his work on neuronal networks, Dr. Baruchi's work on biological memory was named one of the “50 Most Significant Scientific Breakthroughs” by Scientific American in December 2007. Dr. Baruchi holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Tel-Aviv University, where he also completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. (cum laude).
Udi Paret
Vice President, Business Development and Marketing
With his leadership role in business development and marketing, Mr. Paret is responsible for partnership development and accelerating the proliferation of Pythagoras Solar's technology. Before joining Pythagoras Solar, Mr. Paret was President of Fusion Dynamic, where he led global expansion and partnership development with IBM. Prior to that, Mr. Paret joined the founding team of Intransa, a pioneering storage-over-IP company and transformed the company into a multimillion dollar global enterprise with agreements with Huawei, China and HCL, India. Earlier in his career, Mr. Paret held executive positions at 3Com Corporation, including Sr. Director of Customer Care for its $600 million OEM division. Mr. Paret holds a B.Sc in Industrial Engineering & Management from the Technion in Israel and participated in Executive Programs at Stanford University.
Joseph Kochba
Vice President, Research and Development
In his role as Vice President of Research and Development at Pythagoras Solar, Mr. Kochba is responsible for product development, certification and quality. Previously, Mr. Kochba served as a Vice President at both Medinol, a world leader in stent systems for cardiac vessels, and at Super Dimension, a provider of image-guided, electromagnetic intra-body navigation system for pulmonology; in both positions, Mr. Kochba oversaw product life-cycles from research and development through validation, certification and transfer for manufacturing. Mr. Kochba holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the Bar Ilan University in Tel Aviv and participated in the joint management program of Boston University and the Ben Gurion University.
Edi Asher
Vice President, Operations
Mr. Asher is responsible for managing the coordination, planning, and administration of Pythagoras Solar's global supply chain. Before joining Pythagoras Solar, Mr. Asher was Vice President of Operations at Actelis Networks, where he established and led its global supply chain from early design phase to $50 million in operations, overseeing new product introduction, manufacturing and quality engineering, material management and global contract manufacturing. Prior to that, Mr. Asher was Director of Logistics & IT at Vcon, and has also held top management positions with Assa Industries and Scitex Corporation acquired by HP. Mr. Asher holds a B.Sc in Industrial Engineering from the Bar-Ilan University in Israel and a degree in Practical Industrial Engineering from the Technological Institute in Tel Aviv.
Yoni Mizrahi
Director of Finance
Mrs. Mizrahi is responsible for financial reports, budgets and fiscal management of the company. Before joining Pythagoras Solar, Mrs. Mizrahi was Controller at Gilat Satellite Networks, where she oversaw financial reporting and planning of the foreign subsidiaries, including SEC filing. Prior to her work with Gilat, Ms. Mizrahi was a Senior Associate at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) Israel High Tech Audit division, working with clients including Orcit, Retalix, Amdocs IL, Veraz and Msystems. In addition to being awarded with PWC's Employee Excellence award, Mrs. Mizrahi holds an MBA specializing in Finance Management and a B.A with Honors in Accounting and Economics, both from the Tel Aviv University.

Evergreen Venture Partners was established in 1987 as one of Israel's first venture capital firms. Evergreen invests in early-stage Israeli and Israel-related companies in the following fields: software, Internet & media, communications and healthcare. Evergreen's $650 million of venture capital funds under management represents one of the largest portfolios in Israel with investments in 110 technology start-ups.
