Image043Gonen Fink, Co-Founder and CEO
Before founding Pythagoras Solar, Mr. Fink was at Check Point Software Technologies (CHKP) for twelve years as Vice President of Products (R&D) and Vice President of Solutions & Strategy. As one of Check Point’s first employees, Mr. Fink was instrumental in building the company from an early stage start-up to a multi-billion dollar global market leader in Internet Security. Prior to Check Point, Mr. Fink served for seven years in the Israeli Defense Force’s elite intelligence unit as a Captain and continued as a special consultant to the Ministry of Defense. Mr. Fink holds a B.Sc. summa cum laude in Physics and Computer Science and M.A. in Digital Philosophy from the Tel Aviv University, Israel.

Dr. Itay Baruchi, Co-Founder and CTO

Dr. Baruchi’s background represents the essence of Pythagoras Solar’s new and cross-disciplinary approach to photovoltaic technology. In December 2007, work on biological memory completed by Baruchi and others was named one of the ‘50 most significant scientific breakthroughs in 2007’ by Scientific American magazine. Prior to co-founding Pythagoras Solar, Dr. Baruchi was a physicist at Genoa Color Technologies, developing novel image improvement technologies for TV screens and post-production applications; before that he was at Karat Digital Press, a Scitex company, where he developed algorithms and laser imaging systems for automated, high speed, high quality printing press. Dr. Baruchi holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Tel-Aviv University, where he also completed his Physics M.Sc. cum laude and B.Sc. studies. Baruchi has been widely known for his work on neuronal networks as well as other topics.

Image043Udi Paret, VP Business Development & Marketing
Before joining Pythagoras Solar, Mr. Paret was President of Fusion Dynamic, where he led its global expansion and partnership development with IBM. Prior to that, Mr. Paret joined the founding team of Intransa, a pioneering storage-over-IP company and oversaw it from early development to multi-million global revenue and OEM agreements with Huawei, China and HCL, India. Earlier in his career, Mr. Paret held executive positions at 3Com Corp. including Sr. Director of Customer Care for its $600M OEM division and Director of Supply-Chain Operations for LAN-over-ATM division, bringing it from product development to $250M business. Mr. Paret holds a B.Sc in Industrial Engineering & Management from the Technion in Israel and participated in Executive Programs at Stanford University.

Image043Joseph Kochba, VP R&D
Mr. Kochba brings to Pythagoras Solar extensive experience gathered in over 20 years of building advanced multidisciplinary products in various domains. Most recently, he was vice president of product development at Medinol, a world leader in stent systems for cardiac vessels; prior to that he was vice president of R&D at superDimension, a provider of image-guided, electromagnetic intra-body navigation system for pulmonology, where he oversaw product life-cycles from research and development through validation, certification to transfer for manufacturing, covering the spectrum of scientific, medical, clinical, and technological disciplines. Earlier, Mr. Kochba held several roles at Orbotech (Nasdaq: ORBK), a world leader in automated optical inspection, imaging and computer-aided manufacturing technologies: these roles included management of complex multidisciplinary development projects for entire product lines and a field post, managing Orbotech’s service organization in the eastern U.S. Mr. Kochba holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the Bar Ilan University in Tel Aviv and participated in the Management joint program of Boston University and the Ben Gurion University. He is also a graduate of the Israeli Air force Academy and served as a fighter pilot, reaching the rank of Major.
